The more you hone your skills, the more the sport of motorcycling has to offer. That's why it makes sense to seek out opportunities to take advanced riding workshops. A mountain road is much more exhilarating and a wet road much less intimidating when you have complete command of your machine.
Welcome to Harley-Davidson Academy of Motorcycling Team 3-2005, a unique opportunity to complete the H-D AoM Advanced Road Riding workshop and the H-D AoM Group Riding session in one go… in one spectacular destination.
From Friday 8th October to Monday 11th Ride with H-D AoM Director Paolo Volpara to Gocek, explore the scenic route of the Toros Mountains, enjoy the gulf of Fethiye and return to Istanbul with the Bandirma Ferry.
Open only to a maximum of 16 Harley-Davidson riders approved during “H-D AoM Control and Command” or presented by Efsane motor as intermediate/expert riders, this Training session has all the ingredients for closing “in glory” the 2004 season of biking.
Wheels move at 07:00 from Park Orman in the morning of Friday: participants will be divided in groups of similar experience, safety riders and team rules assigned, road book and maps distributed: we will then move along an interesting Route 66 to South Coast. To Bursa and then Tavsanli, Usak, Dinar, Burdur, to reach Fethiye in 750 Kilometers: the itinerary is a demanding one but mostly of light traffic and low control.
We will operate on Observed Rides for Advanced Biking Techniques: 30 minutes of continuous ride followed by 15 minutes of analysis, instructions and discussions.
To facilitate the process Thursday 7th October at Park Orman, starting at 18:00 and ending at 20:00 we will conduct a pre-ride briefing.
Saturday 9th October will be dedicated to refining the Advanced Riding Techniques discussed on the way to Gocek: we will do this on a relaxed six hours ride on the Toros Mountain from Gocek to Kas returning on the panoramic coastal route. Breakfast in Elmali, lunch in Kas and dinner in Gocek.
Sunday 10th October the whole group will have the option to take the sea in a quality Gullet: not only a day of Sun and Fun but, with Paolo aboard, an opportunity for a formal de-briefing after the two sessions of Observed Rides and the time for questions and answers on Competent Harley-Davidson Riding or full day at the Swissotel beach. Part of the Day will be dedicated to the presentation of Harley-Davidson AoM Group Riding Theory.
Monday 11th October the groups will return to Istanbul leaving Gocek early in morning on route 400 where between Aydin and Izmir we will exercise group riding. From Izmir, in observed ride formation, we will continue to Bandirma for the 15:00 Ferry to Istanbul.
With limited places available it is prudent to book now for this session of Harley-Davidson Academy of Motorcycling: the price for 2 Lessons, Three Days of Observation and Tuition on the Road, Evaluation and Analysis, 330 Euros to be paid to Motorist Ltd. Yapi Kredi Bank, Bebek Branch 1016849.
We have reserved “Mr. Dim Apart Hotel” (one of the newest addition to the Gocek hospitality offer) at the price of 60 Euros per person (Bed and Breakfast).
